A look back at 2022 for Nova Pioneer Midrand

The school wishes all of its staff and residents a very happy holiday season, with further exciting events planned for next year.

The Nova Pioneer Midrand campus looks back on some exciting activities that took place this year.

On February 18 the school held its intimate certificate ceremony for its Grade 7 and 8 learners who wrote the international Cambridge Primary Checkpoint examinations in October 2021.

These certificates were received from Cambridge international and the school was extremely proud to hand these over to the learners during the ceremony.

In the true ‘Novaneer spirit’ of outdoor fun and adventure, the Midrand campus parent’s and learner’s limits were tested in a 5km trail hiking experience at Taroko Trail, Modderfontein.

This event saw the parents and students live out the ‘#GreaterTogether’ spirit as they braved the hot sun and rocky trail to make it to the finish line.

Heritage Day brought the learners of the school together in celebration of each other’s heritage and to acknowledge that South Africa belongs to all types of South Africans.

The day was filled with celebrations, talented performances, dances, and music that showcased the vast cultures and heritages that SA has.

The theme for the school’s Mandela Day this year was ‘Do what you can, with what you have and where you are’, and the school community honoured the theme by helping the New Jerusalem Children? Home with food, clothing, and toys.

The school also started its Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) which consists of a group of parents that will serve as the school ambassadors.

“Part of their role will be to engage in school activities, such as fun days, parents’ workday, fundraising activities as well as sports and culture days,” said the school.

Other highlights of the school include the crazy hat day, art exhibition, Grade 8 rainbow treat social media challenge and volleyball challenge, exploration day, and Midrand fund market day.

The school wishes all of its staff and residents a very happy holiday season, with further exciting events planned for next year.
