Help your daughter make a princess wand

It's Saturday and the perfect day for crafting! These DIY princess wands are an excellent playtime craft for any fairy-obsessed child.

Are you looking for something fun to do with your daughter today? These DIY princess wands require only a few supplies, most of which you probably already have at home. You’ll find any materials you don’t have at your local craft store.

What you need

  • Plastic or lace glitter star or butterfly ornaments
  • Acrylic paint
  • Lollipop sticks
  • Ribbon
  • Glue gun
  • Rhinestone stickers

How to make it

  1. Begin by painting your lollipop sticks in your child’s favourite colours. Once your lollipop sticks are dry, use a hot glue gun to attach the glitter star ornament to the lollipop stick.
  2. Add some bling by wrapping a glitter ribbon around the borders of the star and where the lollipop joined to the star.
  3. Using a hot glue gun, reattach ribbon pieces to the star. The ribbon should be roughly two-thirds the length of the lollipop stick.
  4. After you’ve secured your ribbon, add gorgeous complementing rhinestones around the star for added “bling”!
You can also add a layer of glitter mod podge for some more glitz.
