Meet Midrand resident, Boitumelo Diseko of B Artsworks Gallery who is making a mark in the world of virtual arts. She uses art forms such as painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, photography, video, filmmaking and design. Diseko said she had always loved drawing and painting from a young age. She explained, “With visual art I get to create and communicate with another person more than words could. At B Artworks we create artworks that spark a conversation and inspire people to be as authentic and unique as they were created to be. Art is not what I see but what I make the viewer see and feel.

“I started at the age of six, when I finished high school I started selling my art because I knew that I wanted to have my own art business, thus today I’m the founder of B Artworks Gallery. The first solo art exhibition I had was when I was 18.” She said her art was rooted in environmental psychology and her faith. “My work looks at how the environment affects us as human beings and how God uses it to build our character. In the next five years I see B Artworks Gallery being much bigger in terms of opening doors to young upcoming artists to exhibit and sell clothing inspired by the art. It’ll be a space where different creatives can come together with the same intentions and spreading the message to the art world and abroad.”
