New song urges listeners to have fun

MIDRAND – Thato Molupe wanted to release a vibey song as his first amapiano song, which is why the song speaks about party life.

Ambitiouz Entertainment’s amapiano recently took off thanks to their new signee, Thato Molupe aka Wave Rhyder.

The versatile 22-year-old musician is originally from Lesotho in Morija but currently resides in Midrand. He recently released a party song for the festive season called Pula (which means rain).

He explained that he decided to release an amapiano song as it was ‘vibey’ genre. He wanted to write about the party life, Monateng, which is how the song came about. “I figured if I was going to make an amapiano song, let me make it vibey so that everyone will relate to it.

“In the message, I was just saying to people that they should forget about things that stress them like work, and relationships, and just have fun.”

Molupe said the song was available on all digital platforms. He said that Pula, was just an introduction of who he was and what he was capable of doing musically and that people could expect more music, and versatility, from him.

“People should not expect just one thing from me, I can do more than one sound. As much as I started off with an amapiano track, I am not known for the amapiano sound, I do hip-hop and Afropop.”
