Dory, move over – we’re Finding Melo

JOBURG – Joburg Theatre has something new for you in November.

Finding Melo is a new show on at Joburg Theatre, written by Menzi Mkhwane, directed Mahlatsi Mokgonyana and Billy Langa, and starring Mlungisi Mathe.
It is a light-hearted, quirky one-man show based on the story of Melo; a young businessman in his late 20s.

The fun show was developed by the young South African thespian, Mkhwane, recipient of a Naledi Award for the play, A voice I cannot silence and the son of the legendary South African theatre maker, Bheki Mkhwane.

He has staged another award-winning show, called The Secret Valley of Great kings at The Playhouse Theatre, for which he won numerous awards in Durban.
This play, set for the viewing of Joburg audiences, goes through an exciting journey of being a young visionary in the new South Africa and also what it truly means to find oneself in a diverse country.

Starring Mathe, who is well-known for his role of Emkay in the popular South Africa Film and Television award-winning drama series, Skeem Saam, and directed by theatre-making duo, Mokgonyana and Langa.

The latest fare, Finding Melo, brings a very colourful collaboration in creativity and performance. “We can’t wait to share this experience with you,” Mathe wrote to friends and fans on social media.
