JMPD officers shot at near Buccleuch interchange

MIDRAND – Two metro police officers shot at in the early hours of 13 October.

 

Two Johannesburg Metro Police Department officers are unharmed after they were shot at on the M1 close to the Buccleuch Interchange early this morning, 13 October.

Metro Police spokesperson Superintendent Wayne Minnaar said, ” A female officer and a male colleague were in an unmarked BMW patrol car when they tried to stop a white Audi that looked suspicious, when the Audi stopped one of occupants got out and shot at the officers who were still inside the unmarked car.

“The officers fortunately did not get injured however their car’s engine seized and they could not continue the chase. Police are on the lookout for the suspects’ Audi, no number plates are available yet,” said Minnaar.
