The allure of polo

MIDRAND – Glitz and glamour comes to Waterfall, Midrand.

The BMW International Polo Series, marked as one of the most prestigious events on the social calendar, brings the ‘sport of kings’ back to Johannesburg for its 2016 edition.

The Communications Firm’s chief executive officer, Bonnke Shipalala, the event organiser, said this year will see the introduction of an exciting addition to the lifestyle marquees of the second test and Johannesburg leg of the series at the Waterfall Polo Estate in Sunninghill on 11 September, the much-anticipated launch of the Allure Lounge.

Shipalala said, “The Allure Lounge promises to bring class and a dynamic twist to the day whilst epitomising the marriage of supreme leisure and lifestyle. The Polo Series is as much about the horses as it is about the memories and experiences the event represents. With this in mind and drawing inspiration from the spirit of the age, the theme for the Allure Lounge is Be Bold.”

Shipalala said the concept is designed to inspire and invite all revellers to experience the series through fashion, premium beverages and entertainment in a luxurious, relaxed, authentic and genuine atmosphere which characterises the fusion of the black middle class into a space that was previously perceived as white linear.

Fashion enthusiasts are welcomed to display their designer ware in a carefully curated experience at the scenic estate’s terraces whilst enjoying a supreme and elevated view of the field with complete access to the pitch. The day will wrap up with an afterparty hosted by Mzansi’s finest DJs on the decks.

The price of the Allure Picnic Garden is R1 140 (excluding VAT) per person; the Allure VIP Lounge costs R2 900 (excluding VAT) per person. Tickets are available at www.tcf.co.za
