Oreo celebrates 104th birthday
JOBURG - Oreo celebrated their 104th Birthday by making fans smile.
The much-loved biscuit, Oreo, celebrated its 104th birthday with the Open up with Oreo campaign, which encourages fans to open their hearts to others.
To kick off the campaign, Oreo recently hosted a media activation at Col Cacchio in Montecasino’s Piazza. With the idea of celebrating the child inside us all, and inspiring moments of openness and curiosity, the development of Oreo’s latest Wonderfilled campaign was developed.
“We believe that Oreo’s optimistic and enthusiastic brand persona will be brought to life through the creative executions of this integrated campaign,” said Grant van Niekerk, biscuits and groceries category marketing director of Mondelez South Africa.
“The work conveys a positive and hopeful message that we know will resonate with all our fans as we encourage people to practice kindness and open up their hearts to others.”
Members of the media were treated to lunch and tons of Oreo treats to share with their family members who were also invited to the activation. Children were given the opportunity to win great prizes from Oreo every hour. Little parachutes containing a note for redeemable prizes were shot out of a canister as well. The little ones gathered in a circle for their chance of chocolate surprises.
“I had so much fun. I really liked the day with Oreo and all the biscuits and surprises,” said a happy six-year-old Chelsea Singh.
This campaign will be executed in more than 50 countries around the world this year. The campaign will share the positive message of asking fans to open up their hearts to others while offering consumers the chance to win one of three family trips to New York City worth R200 000 each.
For a chance to win one of these amazing trips to the home of Oreo, fans must purchase a pack of Oreo biscuits (176g or 429g) and SMS the last five digits of their barcode, or enter online.
