Never Been Scene at Bassline

JOBURG - Bassline will soon host a night of progressive music at its best!Mad Violinist productions bring the Never Been Scene progressive music event to Johannesburg in April and they want to know if you are hungry for something diverse and daring.

Never Been Scene offers an exciting combination of three of South Africa’s freshest music acts hosted at Bassline, one of Johannesburg’s top music venues.

The avant-garde music show promises to satisfy your craving for a thrilling music experience, with Soweto-based band, BCUC, and their signature high-energy Afro-psychedelic performance are sure to leave you in touch with your roots and reaching for the sky.

Cape Town-based violinist, Hezron Chetty, is also set to perform his wildly beautiful and somewhat dark orchestral arrangements live through a loop station, backed by a drummer and bassist. This show, Mad Violinist Productions insists, will leave you breathless.

Chetty has travelled the world pursuing his dream to perfect his own unique style of playing the violin whilst combining an eccentric mix of genres such as African, Spanish, folk, Gypsy and even punk into his solo work. The result of his unique blend of music is his debut album, The Fallacy Of Composition.

The final band set to blow the crowds away is Follow Me Follow You, and they have crawled out of the darkest caves to bring you groovy melodies built around mind-bending, complex rhythms that aim to touch part of the soul that most people try to ignore.

This instrumental, experimental math-rock power-trio pushes the boundaries of what you call music – while still keeping heads banging and hearts soaring.

Follow Me Follow You is known for their dynamic stage antics, often including the spoken word, colourful attire and unique crowd interaction.

Don’t miss catching this one-of-a-kind show at Bassline on 16 April.
