Miss SA finalists woo at last lunch before finale

JOBURG – Looking every inch the stunning beauties they are, the Miss South Africa 2016 finalists impressed at a recent luncheon hosted ahead of the finale next month.

The intimate lunch took place at The Maslow Hotel in Sandton and saw the stunning 12 finalists reflect on their personal journey throughout the pageant.

Tayla Skye Robinson, one of the finalists from Roodepoort, explained the impact the pageant has had on her since entering.

“The programme has helped me grow and has been a great source of motivation; I can honestly say I have no regrets entering,” she said.

Robinson added that not only was the pageant an amazing platform to do good, but it also represented the country on an international level, which was why she entered in the first place.

Ronette Chambers, a finalist from the Western Cape, also shared her experience of being a model and presenter to becoming a finalist.

“It was a different step to take given the work I did, but I can honestly say that it has taught me a lot,” she said.

Claudia Henkel, public relations manager of Sun International, explained the purpose of hosting the lunch with the finalists. “We put this together as a last chance, ahead of the pageant, to get to know the girls and their stories and also to interact with them,” she said.

The Miss SA 2016 pageant will take place at Carnival City on 19 March and will be televised on M-Net and Mzansi Magic from 5pm to 7pm.
