Calling all young performers!

JOHANNESBURG – Plans are well underway for the second Born To Perform Gala Concert which is set to take place on 10 December at the Lyric Theatre at Gold Reef City and auditions to participate in the concert are open.

The Born To Perform Gala Concert was created by Matthew Marinus and Gemma Donnelly, who strive to create theatre, music and TV platforms to showcase young local talent after they noticed a need for the development of professional opportunities for talented children and teens in South Africa.

The inaugural concert was held in July last year and received a number of rave reviews, paving the way for a second concert. Celebrity artists including Graeme Watkins, Nathan RO, Daniel Baron and Cito performed alongside a number of incredibly talented young children to create an evening of fun for everyone.

Auditions are officially open for young performers between the ages of five and 25 who would like to participate in this star-studded event. The Born To Perform team is looking for young talented performers in any genre, whether they are singers and dancers, and specialty acts including magicians, comedians and even bands. If you have a talent, apply. Choirs and dance schools are also encouraged to apply if they are interested in featuring in the show.

To apply, you need to make a short video of your performance and send it to info@borntoperform.co.za. The Born To Perform team will get in touch to arrange an audition time should you make the cut.

Those who are successful will be given a full professional theatre experience and may get the opportunity to collaborate with a local celebrity. Born To Perform then presents their talent to directors, producers and agents in the industry at the gala event in December.
