“This is unprecedented as AKA is the first African-based artist to appear on the list during its four-year run. Most artists on that list have had great careers and have gone on to be global [stars],” said Raphael Benza of recording studio Vth Season.
“It’s a prestigious symbol of confidence in our work from the world’s leading media players, and a great sign of things to come for the year ahead as the Vth Season team and AKA roll out international growth master plans,” added Benza.

AKA’s video and massive hit single #Baddest is currently on the BBC 1Xtra playlist and will get spot plays on BBC Radio 1. This is his second single after the African smash hit All Eyes on Me to get on BBC 1 Xtra, yet again breaking records for a South African artist.
