GQ model turned foodie takes to the small screen

JOBURG - GQ model, Brett Rogers, has put his Marc Jacobs shoes aside for the filming of his new TV gig in Food, Booze & Tattoos.

Rogers, born and bred in the exciting Melville suburb, was a Crawford School scholar and believes that he can only attribute his strong identity and great education to his time there.

Having modeled for GQ, the Joburger explained that he had a great support system to help him with the transition into TV, but that the career move was hardly a transition at all.

“Honestly, I wasn’t transitioning from modelling to TV,” Rogers said.

“My life is far richer than that. All the work I’ve done in my life was prep for this show. I was just being me and there happened to be cameras around.”

The tattooed Rogers was the perfect candidate to host the travelogue (travel guide and catalogue), Food, Booze & Tattoos.

“My life is Food, Booze & Tattoos. This show is really an extension of my life, and my passions. Tattoos, at the end of the day, are my main attraction – I’ve been collecting for 10 years now.”

His favourite part of recording the show was not the food, his six new tattoos or the booze, but rather interacting with everyday people.

“I am addicted to people, I love learning their stories and listening to their passion. Food, Booze & Tattoos gave me that. All through the country, I got to remind myself of the amazing humans we have here.”

His time with the TV show is not his only pastime – he also co-owns an events company, Feral Friends, and a clothing brand, HalfWolf.

His beard, another project he’s passionate about, was grown in an attempt to impress a girl, and now he’s got the attention of all the girls.
