Ebony Park’s kwaito artist Byron Khumalo

EBONY PARK - Midrand has a lot of upcoming artists and one of them is 27-year-old Byron Khumalo.

 

He is a kwaito and house artist from Ebony Park and is signed to Hardtime Productions.

Khumalo started off his music career as part of a trio named Team 35L in 2011 and they released a single titled Reverse. He then went solo and started writing his own lyrics, influenced by artists such as Zola, he has worked on a few songs such as From Nothing to Something and Amatafula. He said, “I have also worked with DJ Shoes aka Mbuso Masuku on his albums Seshlangene and I Believe.The albums showed a lot of growth in my skills as an artist while still maintaining my passionate lyrics.”

In 2014, he released his first solo single Fast n Furious, a fast moving kwaito track that talks about the good life. “The sky is the limit for me as a kwaito artist. I am currently working on a single Ufunani, to be released before December ends,” said Khumalo.

Above all he said he wanted to be recognised and remembered for his music. Khumalo added, “I have been working on my music for six years now. I hope to one day have my name next to the world’s greatest musicians.”
