A gospel musician from Midrand talks about her music

NOORDWYK - A gospel artist from Noordwyk, Tsitsi Kudita has been in the music industry close to 10 years.

The 27-year-old has recorded three albums, the latest being Reach Out. Kudita, who was born in Zimbabwe and grew up in the UK, said she was drawn to music from a young age. She said, “While in the UK, I sang in church, and I remember a particular day when, after I saw people applaud so much, it encouraged me. I knew I could sing, but when people react like that to your singing, it cements what you already know.”

Kudita said one of her treasured moments was when she sang at musician and pastor Benjamin Dube’s church. She added, “My greatest achievement so far is recording a live audio, it took a lot of work and money, but it was worth it.”

The former administrator said when she arrived in South Africa she was concerned about breaking into the gospel industry after her music had taken flight in her home country. “I am excited that, though the journey has been long, I now perform in various places and people know my musical career is growing quite well.”

Speaking about her other activities, Kudita said she and a group of friends raise funds for different charities.

She said her dream was to take her music to greater heights.
