Blame it on Bollywood comes to SA for the first time

MAGALIESIG - Blame it on Bollywood producer Ashvin Gidwani and director Bharat Dabholkar talks on the anticipated production that will be staged at the Teatro in Montecasino from 6 October until 11 October.

According to Ashvin Gidwani, producer of the film, Bollywood is one of India’s biggest exports and people all over the world are crazy about it.

He added, Blame it on Bollywood is a fusion of vibrant, energetic Bollywood and the Big, Fat Indian wedding, which is the best of both worlds with a kaleidoscope of colour and magic that comes from it.

“The film is unique to an Indian family but can be related by any family in the world,” Gidwani said.

“Seeing this is our first year bringing the film to the South African audience, should the film be warmly appreciated by the audience, we will do a month long show next time we come to the country.”

According to Bharat Dabholkar, director of the film, the South African audience should look forward to a film filled with fun, laughter and dancing.

He added, the comedy drama took about a year to produce with a talented star-studded Indian cast which will bring a humorous story about love, marriage and family to life.

Dabholkar said, “We auditioned for South Africa dancers and we were startled by the great response, plus the fact that the dancers picked up the steps very easily it was surprising. I believe that South Africa is in for a big, fat treat.
