Fantastic Ster-Kinekor screening with the Proteas

JOBURG – The Proteas took a break from the cricket field and watched the screening of the superhero movie, Fantastic 4 at Sandton City’s Ster-Kinekor.

Protea players Morné Morkel, David Miller, Kyle Abbott, Eddie Leie, Rilee Rossouw and Morné van Wyk also took time out to sign autographs for their fans on the day of the screening.

The film is a contemporary re-imagining of Marvel’s original and longest-running superhero team. Four young people teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe and gain superhuman powers, which alters their physical form in shocking ways.

Reed Richards becomes Mr Fantastic, and he is able to stretch and twist his body at will, while his friend Ben Grimm gains immense strength as the Thing.

Johnny Storm becomes the Human Torch, and he is able to control and project fire, while his sister Sue becomes the Invisible Woman.

With their lives irreversibly overturned, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to prevent Doctor Doom from destroying the earth.

The film is directed by Josh Trank and stars Miles Teller, Jamie Bell, Michael B Jordan and Kate Mara, with Toby Kebbell as Doctor Doom.
