JOBURG - Looking for something to keep the boredom at bay this weekend? There’s a whole lot to choose from … better clear that schedule.

 

In what’s being called the alternative gig of the year, Joburg’s legendary Le Club will re-open for one night only. Catch The Awakening’s Ashton Nyte and No Friends Of Harry, who will perform for the first time in 16 years. It’s all happening at The Barnyard Theatre in Rivonia on 23 May from 8pm. The Kingsmead College Book Fair is where all the rising writers, bookworms and fans of local authors will head to this weekend. It will be a day filled with discussions with authors such as Nechama Brodie, Marco Brocardo, Khaya Dlanga and more, as well as a number of talks about writing skills and publishing. Get ready for a parade of incredible drag queens at Miss Gay Jozi. Chris Forrest’s new comedy show Who’s Your Daddy? will give a rib-tickling account of all of this and more. It’s definitely not to be missed.
