The ninth edition of the Lerato Lamola Winter Games started with a bang on June 1 at Lord Khanyile Sports Ground ‘E’Sgodini’, with 32 teams battling it out for glory.

Fast forward to June 17, and only four teams stand tall, ready to clash in the semifinals.

The action-packed weekend of June 15–17 witnessed intense showdowns in the last round of 16 and quarterfinals, narrowing down the competition to only the cream of the crop.

Ama2000, JT Black Stars, Mudagasi, and the crowd favourite, AT Mambas, emerged victorious, securing their spots in the highly anticipated semifinals.

In a nail-biting quarterfinal match on June 17, Ama2000 showcased their prowess, edging past Indlovu FC with a 4–2 win on penalties after it had ended 0–0, setting the stage for an exhilarating semifinal clash.

JT Black Stars displayed their mettle in a tight battle against PSG, emerging triumphant with a narrow 1–0 victory, solidifying their spot in the upcoming showdown.

Mudagasi left their mark on the competition by clinching a thrilling victory over One Lion in a penalty shootout, following a goalless draw, proving their resilience and determination.

And the formidable AT Mambas asserted their dominance with a commanding 3–0 victory over Skepe Nketole.

With the semifinals looming large, the spotlight is on AT Mambas, the firm favourites to clinch the coveted title. Their upcoming faceoff against Mudagasi promises to be a showdown of epic proportions, as both teams vie for a shot at glory.

On the other side of the bracket, JT Black Stars gear up to take on the formidable Ama2000 in what guarantees to be a thrilling battle between two powerhouse teams.
