Summerhill School SA participates in the Jabulani Netball and Soccer Tournament.

Summerhill School SA recently showcased remarkable sportsmanship and talent at the Jabulani Netball and Soccer Tournament held at Pinnacle College Kyalami.

Among the highlights of the event was the outstanding performance of the U11 and U13 netball and soccer teams, as well as the exceptional achievement of Grade 6 learner and U13 netballer, Angelique Golabek, who was awarded the prestigious Player of the Tournament accolade.

The tournament brought together talented athletes from various schools, including Summerhill, Jepari School, Pinnacle College Linden, Southdowns College, Christ Church Preparatory School and College, Pecanwood College, Goal 7 Netball, Pinnacle College Copperleaf, and the hosts, Pinnacle College Kyalami.

In the netball category Copperleaf emerged victorious in the U11 division, while the hosts claimed the top spot in the U13 category. On the soccer pitches, Pecanwood showcased its dominance by clinching victories in both divisions.

Despite not securing any trophies as a team, the commendable performance of Angelique as the Player of the Tournament has filled the entire Summerhill community with pride.

Kegan Marais, the school’s head of sport, expressed optimism about the future, particularly highlighting the exceptional talent displayed by Angelique.

As Summerhill looks towards future tournaments, there is a sense of determination and enthusiasm to build upon the successes of this year.

The impressive skills demonstrated by the U13 netball team serve as a source of inspiration and motivation for the entire school community.
