Nekuvule targets nothing less than 20 goal contribution for Midrand United this season

Midrand United player targets more than 20 goal contributions for this season.

Norman Junior Nekuvule, an 18-year-old football player, hailing from Midrand Halfway House is a versatile player who can adapt to almost every position up front.

He is a natural right winger and is currently playing for Midrand United FC. Nekuvule joined the team during the off-season and has quickly become an integral part of the team.

His love for soccer was instilled in him from a young age by his father, who shares the same passion for the game.

“My father has been instrumental in pushing me to perform at my best. I am a player with a lot of passion for the game, and I always strive to give my best on the field, he explained.

Nekuvule has been playing soccer since he could walk, but he has only featured for one club in his career before coming to Midrand United FC, which is MES FC.

He still has vivid memories of going to the stadium as a five-year-old and watching the matches during the 2010 Fifa World Cup. He remembers thinking to himself that he wants to one day be the one on the pitch representing his country.

Since joining Midrand United, the coaching staff has been very welcoming towards Nekuvule. They believed in him even when he was at his lowest, which has helped him settle in well with the team.

Norman Nekuvule looks for a teammate to pass the ball to.

“My coaches have recognised my potential and are doing their best to unlock it. They are pushing me to my limits and beyond to achieve my full potential.”

Nekuvule is a player who believes in mental fortification. He thinks that being mentally prepared for a match allows one to adapt accordingly to the match environment.

He is also an adventurous player who can play right-back, defensive midfielder, and centre-forward. His role as a player has given him the license to be creative, which is what he is good at.

For Nekuvule, passion is the key to success in this sport, “without passion for the game we are just strangers on the pitch.”

“Percy Tau is my sporting hero. I admire him because he is humble on and off the pitch. I’ve learned from him that there’s no ‘I’ in the team, we function as a unit,” he added

Apart from being an excellent football player, Nekuvule is also a high school learner and a big lover of chess.

His goal this season is to achieve promotion with Midrand United, as it is their first season stint in MLFA, and to have a minimum of 20 goal contributions for the team.

On behalf of the team, Nekuvule would like to thank the supporters who show up for every match.
