Midrand United came from behind to draw 3-3 with Transition FC
Simphiwe Ncube scores a hat-trick and earns praise from teammates and coaches for his outstanding performance.
Midrand United’s U10 drew against Transition FC in a fiercely contested Rand Central Local Football Association little league encounter at Halfway House Primary on September 2.
The match ended in a dramatic 3-3 draw, as United’s substitute Simphiwe Ncube displayed his prowess by scoring a hat trick.
Despite conceding two early goals, United showed resilience and determination throughout the game.
Super-sub Simphiwe proved to be the hero of the day, scoring a hat-trick and earning praise from his teammates and coaches for his outstanding performance.
Simphiwe came off the bench and quickly made an impact with a long strike that caught Transition’s keeper off guard and found the back of the net.
He went on to score two more goals, including a clever free-kick and a loose-ball strike, to complete his hat-trick before the end of the first half.
Transition came out strong in the second half and nearly equalised early, but United’s hard-tackling defender Mubarack Musibau and goalkeeper Liam Morolong held firm to keep them at bay.
However, Transition eventually managed to level the scores with only a few minutes left to play.
United’s U10 coach, Abdulaleem-Yusuff Olakunle, praised his team for their response to his instructions and for their overall performance.
“After going two goals down, I made some tactical changes and brought two players on, including Simphiwe, which proved to be the turning point of the game,” concluded Olakunle.
