Opportunities for talented soccer players in Midrand and surrounding areas

The team of coaches is currently working with 14 to 22-year-olds as it is pre-season and clubs are often looking for players in that age category.

Football scouts or agencies regularly attend lower league games, as well as schools to find potential talent.

Usually, one will be invited to a football trial, where they will play against other potential players in the hope of obtaining a professional contract.

This is why JR Sports Solutions Academy director Radia Monga, Rush Hour Sports Management director and soccer agent Rush Ratshibvumo Mulovhedi, Suna Mashudu Mulondo of Flysport Academy, and volunteer coaches Arthur Joshua and Dwain Dudley have teamed up to scout and assist talented soccer players through a training academy.

The team of coaches and soccer agents have visited numerous soccer events over the past few months in all areas of Midrand in search of talented soccer players with a passion for becoming professional players.

Monga explained that players attend training at the academy at no cost with the aim of preparing for PSL and MDC trials.

“Many players attend trials for professional clubs but are rejected by scouts or coaches because they do not meet all the criteria set by these professional clubs,” said Monga.

“The academy prepares players by working on technique, skill, ball control, and game strategy, in line with PSL criteria and standards.”

The Academy based in Midrand High School also focuses on fitness through strength and conditioning programs.

The academy does, however, plan on introducing a development stage for ages nine to 13-year-olds where players will be moulded and developed to be ready for MDC trials.

“We urge especially Under 18 players to come or let their parents contact us for permission of the guardian.”

Rush is a registered agent with a record of signing many players into PSL and MDC clubs and aims at providing the same opportunities to the players training at the academy.

“We currently have a few players training at the academy who are ready for PSL trials and preparations to get them to the clubs are underway,” Monga added.

“As a former school coach for 10 years, I have watched many talented players pass through the system without being recognised by our local clubs. I am hoping the academy will help many of our talented soccer players both boys and girls achieve their goals and dreams.”

Details: Players who wish to join the academy can contact Radia Monga on 082 300 9771.
