Rabie Ridge Boxing Club boxer excels in Alberton’s Gauteng Development tournament

Boxer Mpumelelo Nzuza never disappointed the club as he came out with silverware.

A Rabie Ridge Boxing Club member did his club proud at Alberton’s Gauteng Development Tournament.

Mpumelelo Nzuza (24) was the only boxer from the club to receive an invitation to the March 11 tournament and by bagging silverware, he did not disappoint. He won the lightweight division of three rounds – winning each of them. The Nzuza, a Centurion resident, joined the club last year and he is its sole light heavyweight boxer. The youngster currently has one win and one loss under his belt and thanks to the club’s coach, Leroy Mosito, he has the opportunity to grow as a boxer.

“As his coach, I am hoping to maintain his winning streak this year. He is the most confident fighter I have ever worked with,” said Mosito. “Normally, boxers are nervous right before their fight, but not him. He puts me at ease.” The club wants to recruit more boxers from Midrand and the surrounding areas.
