Reddford House Blue Hill is proud of its learners who participated in the Midmar Mile

Each year, Midmar Mile draws thousands of competitors, and requires them to swim a 1.6km open water swim, which is equivalent to 64 laps of a 25m pool.

Reddford House Blue Hill is incredibly proud of its four amazing Grade 6 swimmers who took part in the 50th annual Midmar Mile.

Swimmers Nolwazi Malaza, Lesedi Moloi, Darshan Naidoo and Kwande Ntsele set themselves the challenge of taking part in this exciting but testing competition.

Lesedi Moloi is excited to take part in the Midmar Mile.

The Midmar Mile is a swimming race that is held annually at the Midmar Dam north of Pietermaritzburg, in Howick.

Lisa Haggard, Lesedi Moloi, Nolwazi Malaza, Darshan Naidoo, Kwandenhle Nstele, and Katy Thorby.

“We are extremely proud and inspired by the dedication and determination of all four of these learners, leading up to the event, as well as on the day,” said Ryan Grant, the school’s strategic public relations officer.

Kwandenhle Ntsele is all smiles after his race.

The learners represented Reddford House Blue Hills with pride and demonstrated excellent sportsmanship. They were bestowed with medals for their participation in the race.

“We are hopeful that their courage will motivate other learners to train and take part in the Midmar Mile in the future.”
