FFA member hopes for good results at the ASA Cross-Country Championships in Rustenburg

A 22-year-old athlete from Diepsloot said she hopes to bring home gold medal if her preparations go according to the plan.

Local athlete and member of Fitness From Africa, Elana Makamu said winning silver in the Central Gauteng Athletics Cross-Country Championships had boosted her hopes of getting good results later this month.

Makamu recently won silver medal in the 2km Junior Woman category at the Central Gauteng Athletics Cross-Country Championships held in Kagiso Sport Complex on August 20.

A 22-year-old athlete from Diepsloot said she hopes to bring home a gold medal from the ASA Cross-Country Championship if her preparations go according to plan. “I am training very hard to improve my time in order to get better results at the ASA cross-country championships that will take place on September 17 at Konka in Rustenburg. Winning silver at the Central Gauteng Athletics cross-country championships last month has helped boost my hopes.”

Makamu said she thanked her club and coaches for their support in making sure that they get quality and professional training.
