Midrand Royals head coach Thato Pieterse praised her team.

“The ladies played very well, there was coordination and execution of the game plan. Our defenders were our star performers intercepting the opponent’s attacking balls and our shooters capitalising,” said Pieterse.

Despite the tournament being a friendly competition, teams received certificates of achievement for participating.

Midrand Royals have upcoming tournaments scheduled for September and November, so this was ideal preparation for them.

“We have upcoming tournaments for our U15s and 17s and another tournament for our U30s, and over 30s which are our legends.”

The team practises at Curro Sagewood at 17:00 on Fridays, and Saturdays they meet for morning practice at 07:30.
