Midrand Cricket Club U8 team beat Old Benonians
MIDRAND – Towards the end of the game Midrand Cricket Club took the remaining wickets, assuring themselves a 14 run victory against Old Benonians Cricket Club.
Midrand Cricket Club U8 team beat Old Benonians Cricket Club on November 20 at Old Benonians Sports Club.
Player-coach George Mukoki said team captain Maheer Ravi won the toss and chose to bat first. Then team posted 99 for the loss of only two wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Tharun Anitha Waran top scored with 15 run and retired to give other batsmen a chance.
“The bowling attack led by Farzan Moody and Herschel Mukoki started the defence of the score with Moody taking three quick wickets to dismantle the Old Benonians U8 top order before it got momentum.
“It became an easy clean-up job for Rohan Chetan and Sarfwan Rizwan who took the remaining wickets as they managed to assure a 14-run victory for Midrand,” he added.
Mukoki said this had been a positive end to the season for the team after winning two league games.
