The Midrand giants, Tshuma Stingers Rugby Club recently welcomed new coaches onto their team.

Coach Ndumiso Tshuma said the appointments were done to grow the club and secure its sustainability, aligning it with the organisation’s vision.

Tshuma added that the club welcomed the new appointments with great excitement. He said their aim is to continue making rugby available and accessible throughout the Midrand community.

Tshuma said, “All appointments are of members who have been with the club for years, they have great knowledge about the club’s history, functions and roles as well as its aims. This makes things much much easier for them to make posts and successfully function in them.”

Tshuma Stingers female team fly-half, left and right-wing, Khensani Masingi was introduced as the new development coordinator and coach stationed in the Greater Ivory Park area.

She said she intended to guide and lead the junior boys she will be training. “I intend to make rugby fun for them as far as I can. My role is training and teaching our players techniques in rugby. I also want to guide them outside the rugby fields. To be their life coach and a leader, someone they can look up to.”

Briann Mkiva, newly-appointed head coach, said he would help inculcate a mindset of self-expression and enjoyment on the field. “To help facilitate a space where players learn to take pride, ownership and responsibility for what they do,” Mkiva said.
