Kids swim hearts out at Summerhill Prep School

NOORDWYK – Summerhill Preparatory School swam their hearts out at their annual interhouse gala.


Learners from Summerhill Preparatory School brought their game faces to the school’s annual interhouse gala.

The school houses – Eagles, Falcons and Hawks – marched down to their swimming pool in their house colours to cheer on their swimmers. Spokesperson for the school, Teressa Oates, said that the first part of the gala saw the grade classes go head to head with the assistance of preparatory school life guard Jayden Larkins who ensured the the safety of the swimmers.

Oates said, “Eagles, Falcons and Hawks swam their hearts out and showed not only how it’s done but just how much fun they were having.

“The second part of our interhouse gala started shortly after the final races for Grade 3, starting off with each house entering the swimming pool area cheering for their house and challenging the other houses for spirit house of the year. All our sports houses were ready for action.”

At the end of the day, Falcons came up on top with 357 points followed by Hawks with 335 points and Eagles with 247 points. The spirit trophy was awarded to Falcon House who brought a great atmosphere through their cheering.
