Riders cross stepping stones at Fourways Riding Centre

TIMSRAND – Stepping Stones Super League Series has it all at Fourways Riding Centre.

Fourways Riding Centre had everything an equestrian fan could want, with showjumping, dressage, eventing, equitation and showing all in one day.

The first leg of the Stepping Stones Super League Series 2020 was well-attended with horses and riders of all ages, in Timsrand on 15 February.

All morning and afternoon the arenas and cross-country circuit were full of riders strutting their stuff to earn points that they could accumulate for the rest of the series.

After seven legs of the series, an awards banquet will be held where those with the most points secured in various categories will be honoured.

But while riders took their performances seriously, there was always time for a friendly word and snack to eat in-between. Families, friends and trainers also attended in their numbers and cheered every participant on.

“It was a super day and I thought everyone looked lovely in the arenas,” Fourways Riding Centre owner, Marion Clough, said.

“This is all about an introduction to competitions for riders and a chance to work towards competing at graded shows. We had a lot of positive feedback from the riders.”

Clough said the next leg of the series would be held over two days at the end of March.

Before that, the centre will host a three-phase show with dressage, showjumping and cross-country on 23 February. Clough invited anyone interested to contact the centre and sign up for either the three-phase show or the Stepping Stones Super league Series.
