A Kyalami rider triumphs at the South African Youth Championships

BRYANSTON – Brescia House School equestrian Tanith Wise achieves phenomenal results at the prestigious SA Youth Championships for show jumping.

Brescia House School learner Tanith Wise delivered a phenomenal performance at the premier show jumping event, the South African Youth Championships in December last year.

The 14-year-old rider and her horse Contacto achieved a fourth and fifth place in their 90cm competitions in addition to a third place in the finals.

Tanith has developed a passion for the equestrian sport and has been riding for more than seven years, three of which have been in a competitive capacity. “She rides up to six times a week at a stable in Kyalami called Cedar Ridge Stables and she is coached by her incredible instructor Jean Sonderup,” said her mother Jenny.

Tanisyh and Contacto have been partners since September last year. “She absolutely loves him and he is a very special horse.”

The young rider has represented Brescia House at the South African National Equestrian Schools Association with great success. “She received full provincial school colours in 2017 and 2018, competing at nationals in both years,” Jenny added.

“I am looking forward to seeing what this year holds for Tanith and Contacto.”
