Petersen FC crowned champions

RABIE RIDGE – Petersen FC U15 team was crowned champions for the 2019 season.


Petersen Football Club U15 team has been crowned champions of the Midrand Local Football Association.

The club was formed in 2004 and is based in Rabie Ridge, and play their home matches at the Rabie Ridge Sports Complex.

The team had a stellar season after finishing second last year. The team only recorded one loss this year which came early on in the season against Allandale Young Ones.

The team stayed strong throughout the remainder of the season finishing at the top of the log with 33 points ahead of defending champions Sundown Satellite Club.

Founder and head coach of the club, Petersen Ndou said after the previous season, he had gone back to the drawing board to strengthen their defence and goalkeeping for this year’s campaign.

He added that he was extremely proud of his team who were extremely focused throughout the season and kept a high standard of play from the beginning.

“I’m so excited for the team,” said Ndou. “They played really hard throughout the season and had a great level of discipline from the start and came back with the trophy.”

Ndou added that for the 2020 season he would like to strengthen his attack with more strikers while also building the midfield.

The club would like to call on local businesses and residents for sponsorship before the start of the 2020 season.

Ndou said the small club would appreciate any assistance from anyone including donating training equipment or team jerseys.
