She said, “It’s a very simple operation at the club with very little funds. I thought this would be a great opportunity to raise funds.”

Founder and director of the club Morgan Moodley said, “The competition was an amazing idea. We run the football club with no set sponsor. So when Mags approached me about the tournament I thought it would help.

“I always tell the parents of the club that we are a family team. And any way to raise funds such as fun days or tournaments is perfect, also for strengthening the community that we have developed.”

The club was formed last year and has grown exponentially. It now has teams from U7 to a senior team and it operates from Halfway House Primary School.
