Tshuma Stingers get stung

HARTBEESPOORT – Tshuma Stingers suffered another loss against Hartebeespoort Rugby Club

Tshuma Stingers suffered yet another loss this time at the hands of Hartbeespoort Rugby Club from North West who hosted them on 8 June.

Stingers had no answer to their hosts who scored six tries to nil in an emphatic 39–6 victory.

Hartbeespoort scored the opening try which was converted but the Midrand side managed to keep their composure, discipline and stuck to their structure and were rewarded with a penalty which Lwando Yiliwe duly converted.

Just before half-time, Yiliwe slotted his second penalty with the teams going into the break at 7–6 in the favour of the Harties boys.

In the second half, Stingers upped the tempo of their game but Hartbeespoort kept the visitors at bay.

With the clock ticking towards the 60th minute, Stingers made changes to try gain control on the scoreboard but it seemed too little too late. The hosts continued to pile on the pressure and crossed the Stingers’ line five more times.

Stingers head coach Lofty Tyebileo said, “Collectively we realise now that we only have one remaining chance to stay in the top four, We are looking forward to putting a whole lot of work in training ahead of our deciding clash against Alexandra Rugby Club. It will be massively important for us to get a win with a good result.”

The Midrand outfit will play Alexandra Rugby Club on 15 June in Soweto as they aim to bag five points to make it into the top four and remain in the Senior Grand Challenge.
