Kyalami does their part

KYALAMI – Botshabelo Babies Home hosts 80 golfers for their annual Golf Day event this year.

Botshabelo Babies Home held their annual Golf Day event at the Kyalami Gold Club on 4 June to raise funds for their non-profit organisation.

The organisation hosted 80 golfers on the day and all funds raised are to assist them to care for vulnerable children and to empower women through education.

A number of local companies sponsored holes, with a prize given to the golfers for every four balls.

Commenting on the day, former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Brian Baloyi said that the day was about having fun and giving back to the community.

“If we can personally be involved in events like this, it means we are on the right track.”

Michelle Hinrichsen, who is the managing director for Botshabelo, said that the day was a successful one because they were able to raise funds and make connections with local businesses and individuals who are now investing in what Botshabelo does.

“Makopano Mutlatsi, who is our fundraiser, is the one who ran the day and she pulled the event together really well. We also had some new high profile players like Brian Baloyi and Matthew Booth, which was great – not forgetting the players who have been with us for four years in a row, since the beginning of the event.

“What we are also excited about is that next year we have another Golf Day coming up in June, where we will be commemorating Botshabelo’s 20th birthday. Botshabelo thanks everyone involved for an incredible day and looks forward to 2020’s Golf Day.”
