Beaulieu College stumps Linden Hoërskool in hockey

KYALAMI – Beaulieu College played against Linden Hoërskool in hockey beating them in all four games.


Beaulieu College girls’ hockey teams played four home matches against Linden Hoërskool, winning all four games.

Beaulieu’s U14 team made hockey look like a walk in the park, scoring seven goals without reply. Tatum Marshall bagged four and Jamie Wood slotted home three. The U15 game was a bit tougher but Beaulieu was still too strong for Linden in a 4–0 victory. Alyssa De Sai scored three with Jamie Naidoo adding one.

As the age group became higher, the matches became more difficult. In the second team clash, Beaulieu once again prevailed but this time with a closer 2–0 win. On the scoresheet were Lovidor Phasiya and Tshepiso Moncho.

In the big clash of the day between the schools two first teams, the defensive play of both teams was outstanding until Beaulieu’s Gracious Mpe unlocked Linden’s defence to score a spectacular goal towards the end of the first half.

In the second half, U14 player Tamika Kock proved why she was selected for the first team when she created the chances for Beaulieu to score two of their next six goals for a 7–0 rout. Goals came from Robin Fourie, Eleanor Vettori (2), Gabi De Sai, Tamlyn Kock, and Kaylee Harwood.
