Come and stride out with the Midrand Striders at their annual half marathon

MIDRAND – The annual do has had a great turnout over the years.

Midrand Striders together with Flightsure and Cova Advisory, will be hosting their annual half marathon on 19 August.

Distances include a 21km, 10km and a 5km fun run and walk at the Inanda Country Base, Knopieslaagte in Midrand.

The race convener Glenn Andrews said the annual do has had a great turnout over the years and was becoming increasingly popular, with many runners getting their legs ready for the new running season.

“This year we have the pleasure of welcoming the 2018 Comrades winner Ann Ashworth running the course along with many athletes from all over Gauteng that come to enjoy the countryside feel. The routes for the various runs take runners through the quiet country roads featuring hills, undulating roads and beautiful views,” he said.

The 21km and the 10km races start at 7am, and the 10km walk together with the 5km fun run will start at 7.15am. Entry will be at the race venue on 18 August from 10am until 4pm. They will also be taken again on race day from 5am until 6.30am.
