Knights are no rookies

MIDRAND – All games were competitive and both teams showed great skill and passion.

Golden Knights Soccer Academy made a clean sweep of their pre-season warm-up games against Siyajabula Soccer Freestyle Club at Midrand High School on 14 April.

The Knights won 3–0 in the U10 game, their U13s were victorious 8–3, and the senior team walked away with a 7–3 victory.

“We organised the games to show that talent exists in the community,” said Knights coach Aobakwe Seleka.

“All games were competitive and both teams showed great skill and passion. In the end the children and the spectators enjoyed themselves.”

Seleka added that they were looking forward to playing against other teams in Midrand and the surrounding areas. “We want to show unity in sport and the power it has in bringing the community together.”

Although Knights had success in all three matches, the club’s founder Katlego Ntsekhe said the boys were still far from being prepared for the league season which starts at the end of April.

“The boys are still far from their best and they will be playing more games to gain match fitness. However, all teams had good performances after weeks of intense training.”
