MIDRAND – He said the kit included 22 jerseys, 22 shorts, 22 training T-shirts and 22 bags for the school's first rugby team.

Midrand High School yet again was fortunate to receive more than R20 000 worth of rugby kit on 11 April courtesy of Midrand Ford Fury.

The sports administrator at the school, Kwazi Shangase said this was the third year they had received sponsored kit from the motor company. Shangase added that the donation helped their budget. “We used to use the school sports funds to buy our own kit,” he said.

“But for the past three years, our budget is more effective for paying for transport, equipment and refreshments on tours.”

He said the kit included 22 jerseys, 22 shorts, 22 training T-shirts and 22 bags for the school’s first rugby team called the Midrand Stallions.

“The entire kit costs close to R30 000. We want to thank Ford Fury and to let the community know about their meaningful contribution. We are happy for the sponsorship and that they support the development of rugby.”

Shangase also invited the community to come and support the school’s rugby team in the Golden Lions League which began on 14 April.
