Simply the best

KYALAMI – Local soccer team does proud by winning the U7 Easterns League 4.

It was a joyous occasion when the Northerns Football Club U7 team played their last match of the year.

The youngsters overcame Touch Perfect 5–2 in a friendly at Beaulieu College on 2 December and had further cause to celebrate when they received their trophy and medals for winning the U7 Easterns League 4, on the same day.

“They are an amazing team with so much taste for football,” said the proud coach, Vincent Ncube.

“They are young but they have shown so much dedication to the team.”

Ncube boasted that in 17 league games this year, his team only lost one and drew one and has been promoted to League 3.

The side also reached the final of the U7 Easterns Cup, where they narrowly lost 2–1 against Real Tigers.

While the friendly against Touch Perfect signalled the end of a successful year, the Northerns youngsters took it as seriously as they would have if it had been a cup final.

They played hard and defended well, using all the skill they learnt during the year.

This does not mean the youngsters did not have fun while playing and got to enjoy a box of doughnuts together afterwards.
