Reaching the summit

MIDRAND – Marula house took the winning cup with 190 points, Acacia came second with 188 points and Baobab came a close third with 183 points.

 

Summit College inter-house athletics kicked off on 1 August with field and track events. Houses competing in the college’s high school events were Acacia, Baobab and Marula.

“Athletes really showed their mettle and broke 20 existing school records,” said Natasha De Amorim Leith, the marketing and PR administrator at Summit College. “The highlight of the day was a brilliant display in open boys high jump with a record of 1.80m by Lerothodi Monyeki.”

Summit College Preparatory held its annual inter-house athletics on 2 August with three houses participating – the red house Tlou, blue known as Ndlovu and the green house called Ganesha.

“Four athletes Orea Pollock, Mogomotsi Matlala, Tyler Koekemoer, and Zakhele Khumalo were the stars of the day with great performances and were awarded trophies and certificates,” said Vinod Naidoo, the head of Summit College Preparatory sports.

Final results on the day were as follows: Ganesha (784 points) Ndlovu (705) and Tlou (685)

The event ended off with a tug of war pulling between the staff of Summit College and parents.
