Ouch, the Stingers do it again!

MIDRAND - Tshuma Stingers win 21–11 against Eldoronians in the Golden Lions Senior Grand Challenge.

 

Midrand rugby club Tshuma Stingers beat Eldorado Park’s Eldoronians maintaining their unbeaten record in the Golden Lions Senior Grand Challenge.

The Midrand team travelled to Eldorado Park to play their first away fixture against the Eldoronians and came back victorious 20–11.

The home team was first on the scoreboard via a penalty kick 10 minutes into the game. Tshuma Stingers were quick to respond and took the lead after Simbarashe ‘Beast’ Chadya picked up the ball from the base of a scrum to score the opening try of the day which was converted by Nathan Kok.

The visitors went further ahead after fly-half Malusi Mkize took a quick penalty tap and laid off to Tanner Fox who breached the opposition’s line of defence to score the second try for the Stingers. The physicality of the game lived up to the hype, with the Stingers going into the break 17–3 up.

In the second half, the Eldoronians used their forwards to get over the advantage line but the Stingers’ uncompromising defence kept the home side at bay. However, Eldoronians did manage to score an unconverted try coupled with a penalty, with the visitors only replying with a solitary penalty.
