MIDRAND – Midrand Vichi Knights adds 10 children to their football squads after hosting trials.

The Midrand Vichi Knights (MVK) held football trials on 18 February at Halfway House Primary School in Midrand for all young aspiring players.

Children between the ages of eight and 16 kicked off the trials at 9am.

Team coach for MVK’s U14 team, Basil Dickason said with all the age groups combined, MVK has added 10 children to their teams.

“I am pleased that 10 children have benefited, but had there been better a attendance, more children would have been added to the teams. Not all children perform well academically, therefore, sport is a vital part in the development of a child and shaping their future,” said Dickason.

The trials were for both boys and girls, but a higher turnout of boys was seen.
