Swimming school gets a lesson in CPR

MIDRAND – Do you know how to save a life doing CPR? Swimming school staff learn the basics.

Midrand’s Debbie Dolphins Swimming School held its annual CPR update session for its staff.

The new members of staff were given all the necessary information to save a life, including how to help someone having a heart attack, respiratory arrest, haemorrhage or choking.

Team member Dinesh Madhavjee said, “The update is in line with Swim South Africa, labour laws, and general safety regulations of the Occupational Health & Safety Act 85 of 1993.”

He added that the team had lots of fun as they learnt about life-saving skills. “I enjoyed learning how to do CPR on a heart attack victim or a child that was choking. It is crucial information that everyone should know,” said Madhavjee.
