SuperSport signs top Tuks striker

JOBURG – SuperSport United bags yet another top player, this time from relegated Tuks.

SuperSport United has signed University of Pretoria attacking midfielder, Thabo Mnyamane on a three-year deal and the player is expected to make his debut in the MTN 8 Tshwane derby in the new season.

The Bafana Bafana international joined Matsatsantsa after they beat off the likes of Orlando Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer chiefs to land his signature.

Mnyamane (23), is capable of playing on both flanks and arrives at SuperSport with a glowing reputation in the Premier Soccer League after first making his name in the Varsity Cup ranks for NWU-Pukke, and recently with AmaTuks where he contributed 17 goals in all competitions during his three seasons with the Tshwane-based outfit.

Tuks, as University of Pretoria is known, was relegated to the National First Division after failing in the national playoffs and were beaten by eventual winners, Highlands Park.

Among Mnyamane’s honours was being awarded Player of the Tournament in the Varsity Cup competition where he helped North West University to a last four finish, earning himself national recognition along the way. He also scored on debut for Bafana Bafana against Swaziland.

Mnyamane now becomes Stuart Baxter’s sixth signing following the arrival of Reeyad Pieterse, Keegan Ritchie, Onismor Bhasera, Reneilwe Letsholonyane and Cole Alexander.
