Take up the challenge: Live a healthier life

KANANA - A group of people from Kanana has started a gym session initiative and is inviting the community to take up the challenge to live a healthier lifestyle.

Fat Fighters Club gym session organisers Mervis Mkhize and Cate Phukubje spoke on behalf of the group and said while there is a R50 membership fee, the aim of the initiative is to help the community to choose to live a healthy lifestyle.

They said, “We are focused on those who need to lose unwanted weight and by doing so, we will also target young people with our sporting activities to try and keep them away from crime and drugs.”

The ladies hope to attract the attention of the young and old, and this Women’s Month they want to challenge women to take an hour out of their day to exercise.

“We have a dedicated team who are so passionate about gym and they offer their time to coach and train those who are interested in living a healthy life. It only takes an hour, which is from 6pm to 7pm, to shape your body,” they said.

To get a glimpse of what Fat Fighters Club can do to assist you in losing weight or living a healthy lifestyle, go to Kanana Ext 4 Ivory Park Sports Ground on 5 September at 7am. There will also be netball, soccer and aerobics available.
