Rugby star to host tribute dinner
JOBURG - JEAN de Villiers, one of the best rugby players of his generation, recently launched his Tribute Series supported by Citadel, Bidvest Insurance, Glass Fit, Digi Call and Tsogo Sun which will raise funds for selected charities through a tribute dinner and two golf days.
The dinner will take place on 27 July at the Sandton Convention Centre and will see tables of 10 being purchased at a cost of R13 500. Several high-profile current and former, local and international rugby players, including Schalk Burger, will be in attendance. Burger has recently been named the interim Bok captain.
The first golf day will take place on 18 August at the Killarney Country Club, and the second golf day will be held on 4 September at Boschenmeer Country Club in Paarl. At the golf days, four balls will go for R7 500 and R6 500 respectively and a hole sponsorship will go for R5 500 excluding value added tax. All the funds raised from these events will go to the Citadel Philanthropy Foundation, the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation and Supersport Let’s Play charities.
The Springbok captain recently made his much-anticipated return after a lengthy injury as he continues to get back to full fitness ahead of the Rugby World Cup in England later this year.
