Stud farm in Chartwell rides to glory

CHARTWELL- El Encanto Andalusian Stud in Chartwell is celebrating two of their horses who have won two of the main dressage championships recently held in Johannesburg.

Founded in 2002 by Claudia Privato, the stud began with the import of black stallion Carlo I from Spain. It was further enlarged with the import of two Spanish mares.

Milmac El Encanto Tercio, an eight-year-old gelding, Andalusian cross Warmblood, was the winner of the Advanced International Equestrian Federation annual World Dressage Challenge event at the Kyalami Equestrian Park. This is the most prestigious dressage event in South Africa. Ridden by Siobhan Records, Milmac El Encanto Tercio came out on top. Addcon El Encanto Sevilla, a five-year-old mare, Andalusian cross Thoroughbred, was the winner of the annual Riverleigh International Mini Series Dressage Challenge at Preliminary Level held at the Riverleigh International Stables, Honeydew. Addcon El Encanto Sevilla was riden by Jo Bentley.

Both horses were sponsored by Milmac Produce and Addcon Africa Feed and Grain Additives, both from Chartwell. Additionally, both horses compete over several shows throughout the year and the highest scoring horse over the series is the Mini League champion.
