I would like to take this opportunity to thank Detective Warrant Officer Goodwill Ramagweja for going beyond the call of duty. We always have a lot of criticism for our police services, but never take the time to highlight a job well done.

I opened a docket in April 2012 at Midrand Police Station, and have listed a few of the cases about a man involved in an ongoing case. The list has grown so much longer since then. Two more cases are listed in White River and

one in Hazyview and recently Durban; those are the ones we know of.

The Midrand dockets were thrown out of court without even being in court January 2013.

I proceeded to lodge a complaint with the NPA and was very fortunate to have Senior Prosecutor Anal Stellenberg assigned to the cases. It took six months of hard work, long hours, much paper work and many trips to Johannesburg to prove that our cases were strong enough to go back on the court roll.

The man I opened a case against was arrested in Durban in September last year, after a number of cases were reported in Durban. Ramagweja transported him back to Johannesburg and the suspect has been in prison since then. He has been appearing in Hazyview, White River and Midrand.

We are finally going to court on the 26 and 27 January this year.

I sincerely hope that justice will be served and the harm that this suspect has caused to so many people may come to an end somehow.

I would also like to thank Constable Cindy Ngwenya of White River or Hazyview for assisting.
